Stir Films was founded in 2021 by award-winning filmmaker Brendan Joel Hildebrandt. It exists to capture human stories with heart and cinematic care. From independent projects born of curiosity and passion, to collaborations with people and organisations seeking thoughtful storytelling, Stir Films crafts films that move, engage, and connect audiences.

Our journey began with Dr Russell's Imaginarium, an independent documentary sharing the inspiring story of an antiques store owner following his dreams. Broadcast across Australia on SBS, it set the tone for the human-centred storytelling we continue to pursue today. This was followed by World of Curiosities, a bite-sized web series uncovering unusual and peculiar history. The series was recognised with the WA Screen Culture Award for Innovation in Web Series, highlighting our dedication to creative, engaging factual storytelling.

At Stir Films, we work closely with individuals, artists, organisations, and businesses to bring their stories to life. Whether it’s an independent documentary, a commissioned project, or a creative collaboration, we aim to create films that inspire, inform, and connect people — sharing different perspectives and celebrating the richness of human experience.

Based in Boorloo, Perth, Western Australia, Stir Films is passionate about telling stories that matter, combining cinematic craft, thoughtfulness, and authenticity in every project.
