Stir Films was established in 2021 and is the independent production company of Perth-based filmmaker Brendan Joel. Alongside producing in-house documentaries and factual entertainment, we work closely with businesses and organisations to share stories on screen. Our goal is to blend creativity with business objectives, delivering original, innovative productions that resonate with viewers.

Brendan's filmmaking journey began in 2008, working on story-driven music videos and promotional videos for local bands and businesses. in 2015 he co created 'The World Is' an innovative 60min audio/visual stage show with vocal loop artist Sam Perry which toured Perth & Adelaide. His passion for cinematography and bringing ideas to life has seen him work on a diverse range of projects from indie films and web series, to promotional and commercial content. Brendan graduated from the WA Screen Academy in 2018 where he specialised in cinematography and was awarded the Channel 9 'Award of Excellence' and a Silver ACS Award for short sci fi film Spiral. His debut documentary 'Dr Russell's Imaginarium' premiered on SBS AUstralia in 2021 and his follow up series concept 'World of Curiosities' won a WA Screen Culture Award for Innovation in 2023. Under the banner of Stir Films, Brendan continues to push creative boundaries, producing compelling documentaries, films, series and creative content.
